An original mod has been created for you JK2 platers. This mod features a remake of the Secret Base level from Dark Forces, the original Star Wars first-person shooter. For all the details, visit the official website.

That's right, after 6 long months and the commitment of > 20 volunteers, the remake of "Secret Base", the first level from the Lucas Arts game Dark Forces, has been recreated in all the glory the Jedi Outcast engine allows. Weighing in at just under 30 MB, the demo is available in a single file for broadband users, or three seperate files for modem users.

New GCC Weekly Poll
Posted by `Smaug on Friday, November 29 @ 06:19:55 CST
Igor Molotov writes "It’s Friday, the weekend is upon us at last, and so is the new GCC poll. This week’s one is about our responsibilities as inhabitants of the World Wide Web. I’m talking about our role in the prevention of viruses and worms and what have you.

Most if not all of us have heard the stories about massive explosions of e-mail viruses with exotic names and the damage they do. In fact, I would guess most of us have first hand experience with the hassle of having to deal with an infected system. The words “denial of service attack”, where thousands of unprotected computers are taken over by what could be considered e-terrorists and used to try and render businesses or the entire web useless, are becoming part of our daily vocabulary, and still they occur ever more frequently.

In this day and age it appears we will have to learn to live with this bane…or is it not too late to turn the tide? Start today by speaking up and cast your vote in GameClubCentral’s Weekly Poll."

One Must Fall: 2097 Sequel in Development
Posted by `Smaug on Friday, November 29 @ 06:19:38 CST
Slix writes "Diversions Entertainment picked up on the original idea of Epic MegaGames and has decided to begin development on a sequel to the 1994 robot fighting arcade game, One Must Fall: 2097. The sequel will go by the name of One Must Fall: Battlegrounds and should be released in the first quarter of 2003.

Public beta versions should come out sometime in February, but D.E. has revealed that members of their message boards will have the privilege of receiving it two weeks early, so get on over there!
