I took a Basic Rider class from the Motorcycle Safety Foundation last weekend, and applied for my motorcycle endorsement on Tuesday. This morning I picked up my new ride. It's a Honda Shadow VLX 600 Deluxe 2006 with under 3,000 miles. Took it to a neighborhood behind the dealer and practiced in an elementary school parking lot until I felt more comfortable with the bike, after all it has twice the displacement of the 250cc Kawasaki I took the course on. After I was able to relax some, I had a blast. I'm wondering why it took me so long to do this.

So is it early mid-life crisis? I don't rightly know myself. Not sure I care either way to be honest. Smile

Hrmm, well, that reminds me of an article I found linked on the EQ2 forums the other day. (The "non-gameplay discussion", mind you.)

Under the heading "It's not always nice, but it's true", soo, take a read Wink

No midlife crisis, there, dude. You just got a late start on the absolute blast that riding a motorcycle can be. I'm having flashbacks just looking at the pic (it's the same make, model, displacement and color as my last bike). Just remember that paranoia is a virtue in a street rider.

Another first today. My first time getting caught riding in a torrential downpour. Guess I'm not as sweet as I thought, I didn't melt.
