When I was heavily into upgrading X-Wing Alliance and downloading the total conversion for TIE Fighter (which I haven't played yet), my nephew sent me a link to a total conversion mod for Jedi Academy called Knights of the Force.

This game looks totally hot! It was supposed to be released last week, but there's been a delay. In the meantime, I downloaded the
Knights of the Force Demo. It's very cool, but hard. I've managed to get Obi-Wan killed about a hundred times. I hope there's a difficulty setting that will let me win. I've only managed to kill Jango once and so far haven't figured out how to deal with the clone troopers. Still, it's a very cool-looking game.

Hmmm...looks like I'm in a Star Wars state of mind these days.

Wow I hadn't heard about this- it looks awesome. Have to find my copy and give it a go, although that game always made be sick to play.

I wonder if they tell you what might have happened had Obi-Wan killed Jango and captured Boba? Basically, you're playing the movies, but you can change the outcome. That seems kind of weird.

It looks like a HUGE project with all kinds of movie-based battles to fight as various people. I haven't tried the demo as Jango yet. No Force powers, but I'm betting the Mandalorian armor has some surprises.

Knights of the Force: Don't hold your breath.

I’ve done a little poking around and it appears the guy who is doing the Knights of the Force mod has been saying it will be out next month since 2003. He has flaked out on the release date many, many times.

What clued me in was a response to the alleged reason for the delay that said, “I believe you this time, Tim.” I don’t see it now. Maybe I just missed it. Regardless, when I see that someone has flaked out in the past, I get suspicious. A little bit of a Google netted me these URLs:

A lot of people are claiming Knights of the Force is a scam and unless there is a finished mod available for download very, very soon, I'm inclined to agree with them.
