i noticed some things that lead to crashes of shoot when run in vista32.

do not assign CTRL-Key.
do not use words that can activate windows functions such as START.
i will post the error-screens today.

shoot runs nicely in combination with ocz neural impulse actuator (nia).
shoot can be used with any language offered by vista's native voice recognition.

i'll keep you up to date with my finds.

Haven't touched Vista yet, but I'm using Windows 7 Beta at the moment and I can tell you that shoot will work with it, too, by following the instructions on installing on Vista. The beta that I'm running is the 64 bit, but I imagine it would work also on the 32 bit.

I don't know about the speech recognition on Vista, but Windows 7 has several options when speech recognition is running. The "off" option will let you run shoot without the computer attempting any commands. There's also a "sleep" mode that allows you to speak a command to have speech recognition start listening for commands. And, of course, there's an "on" mode where it listens to everything you say. As long as the engine is running (even in the "off" mode), shoot will hear your commands.

I have only done a little training and I don't have a good noise cancelling mike (you'd think they'd put a noise canceller on a surround sound headset Rolling Eyes ), so I'm not having the best of luck with commands being recognized right now, but...........

Edit : Installed the Vista x64 drivers for my sound card so I could get the mike boost function that the Mickeysoft drivers didn't provide and discovered that it matters which way the boom on the mike is rotated Very Happy and got much better recognition after a little retraining.

hi there,
i am still struggeling with shoot 1.6.4 and vista64. i got it working but with a very bad recognition quality. it worked much better with XP. in addition i am not able to start the training and custom dictionary from shoot menue.
any ideas what i can improve to get a better result?
thx in advance.
best regards
desmo

edit> i solved the problem. i used key scrollock to switch on-off the micro. due to any reason pressing this key reduced my micro volume and shoot could not recognize any more what i said. i changed the key and all is fine now. love that tool!

Hi guys,

It has been a while since I used Shoot.
Now on Vista 32bit I am getting the following fault message.

I have followed above mentioned .NET Framework 1.1 with SP1 fix, but with the above fault warning as a result when I want to open a profile from within Shoot.
Anything I have overseen or done wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Regards, Ice.
