I was so happy when I found this program. I had tried First Officer Home but could never get it to work on Vista64. Plus it was a program you have to pay for...then I ran across Shoot! Getting it to work on Vista did take a little work though. First I tried installing .Net 1.1 and got a incompatibility warning..."this program is known to cause problems with IIS", but it gave me option to install anyway but at that I chose not to. Downloaded the .Net 2.0 and tried to install it. "This program cannot be installed on a x64 system" was the response I got. Tried to install the x64 version of .Net 2.0..."This program is already installed." (by the way, .Net 20 does not show up in the Programs and Features of the control panel but does show as running in the standard services?!) Ok, so 2.0 is supposedly installed so I dropped in the modified shoot.exe.config file and still did not work. ARRRRRRG!!! Back to .Net 1.1, ignored warning (I don't use IIS anyway) and installed, Shoot still not working. DOUBLE ARRRRRRG!!! Installed sp1 for .Net 1.1, ignoring warnings, enabled the new Shoot.exe.config file. Fired up Shoot and it works great!!! This will make night flying a lot easier! No more searching for keys in the dark! No more trying to remember complicated keys strokes or a lesser used combination. I hope this might help those of us stuck with Vista for now.
Great program, thanks!
