The level cap on the server I am on is level 20. You guys are on an invitation only server that has a cap of 30.

Also, what is the level cap going to be at release?

30 on release is what I understand, there are several reasons they are doing that, which will be in my preview this week.

My thought on the game is well - bleh.

Superspeed just felt buggy and I would be running and accidently ran into a lightpole and I end up running up that and around the top bar.

It is nothing that I would want to pay for an ongoing subscription for and I love the DC Universe and their characters so it is not the subject matter. I could only bear the game until about level 8 and had to stop playing.

The best part of the game was the opening movie cinematic. I'll probably check back after they have gone through a few updates.

They finally added voice chat, and the impromptu PVP events. Reyak has a point, but it is a game worth watching, and better than CoH in my opinion. Not sure I will buy it on release, I already have an MMO I love.....

I haven't yet made up my mind on DCUO, mostly because it does some things right while falling short in other areas. It's still in beta, so I'm watching to see what improvements are implemented. I'm going to wait for Marty's piece before I start getting into details, though.

Khalaq, I agree with you about it only being a beta so far. However, the game goes live in 11 days. Probably not enough time to get all of the issues resolved before going live.

I think as I get older, I'm getting picker. I'd be ok with a buggy startup in the past, now I just want a game that works right from the first install (ie mostly bugfree).

Maybe I'm just turning into a grumpy old gamer myself.

What the...? January 11th??? For some reason, I thought they had more time than that. There's no way this game is going to be truly "ready" by the 11th. It's got at least three more months' worth of work to be done on it.

I predict there's going to be a lot of unhappy customers upon release.

I played until the 20 Cap I hit on my server. I had fun, but didn't get to experience the higher level stuff.

If they release it before it is ready, the game will die and that would be a shame. It has a lot of potential.

Either that or they will switch to Free to Play.

I have now been involved with some of the high level group and raid content. My write-up should be completed by Tuesday at the latest, and it will also include some thoughts from Tasburath.

On a side note, I got into a different build over the weekend. It is odd, but it actually appears that those in the beta right now for both platforms are several builds behind. There is more going on in the game for release than the beta reflects currently.

I still think they are pushing it too hard too fast, but the build I played last was vastly improved over the current PC beta. I do think PS3 players are getting the short end of the stick too.

Ok, Tuesday didn't happen, but I am nearly done formatting the preview. If the kids behave tonight, it will be up later. Sorry, my hardware review took longer than I thought.
