Hands down, this is the best movie I have seen since Lord of the Rings. Great and not overdone acting, mind blowing special effects (so much so it is hard to catch all the action in some of the later shots), and a tribute to the G1 cartoon IMHO, but opinions may vary amongst G1 fans.

I did have a hard time with all of the blatant advetising (GM, Mtn Dew, Buger King, etc), but strangely, it seemed to work in and for the movie in general. I still wanted to see Bumblebee as the Volkswagon Beetle, but having been through many generations of transformers, it didn't bother me that much at all having a Camaro instead of a Bug, a Pontiac instead of a Porsche, beacuse they MOSTLY kept to the roots of the original characters.

Frenzy (The spy boombox) was my personal favorite, but the scene with Starscream and the F-22 Raptors kicked behind as well Smile

Be prepared for 2.2 hours, but I found it well worth the price of admission. When I asked my 14 year old and the wife, they said it was the best movie they have seen in a long time also, and they are not very G1 literate, so if you are not a Transformers fan, I still think you should go see this.

I am very curious about the game now, has anyone tried the PC or console version of it?

Saw it on July 4th, the theater was packed.

This movie is exactly what you would hope it would be. Big action, grand special effects, mixed with a few laughs and a quasi-decent storyline. Its as good it could be considering the movie is about giant alien robots who can disguise themselves as everyday objects.

they leave this one WIDE open for a sequal. I will be in line for that one as well. This was great summertime movie fun.

I went to see it the other day with the girl ... and it was AWESOME!

Admittedly, I haven't had any background on it or anything ... but in itself it was really well done. I should have a copy of the game on PS2 shortly (compliments of MovieGuys.com.au and my trusty mod-chip)

Got to see this Sat night and all i can say is WOW

Amazing, way better than i expected, even after hearing how good people thought it was. Got to of been one of the best films i have seen of late, people even started clapping at the end of the film!

One thing though, the fights seemed a tad too fast, very good but would of been nice to of seen a bit more detail. Guess i'll just have to watch the DVD lots.

I also found the final battle scenes moved VERY fast. Without doing a Matrix thingee however, this is somewhat realistic of what might be if a fight like this did occur.

After seeing the movie 4 times now (Gina made me), I still think this is easily one of my favorite movies of all time.

The DVD had better have multi-angle! Smile

Have yet to use multi-angle on any film, would be interesting to see that on this.

4 times eh, very nice wish i could afford to go to all the films (damn student life lol)

A matrix style would have been very interesting to be used, but i doubt it would have worked for the type, we can always use slowmo on the DVD Smile

The other thing i forgot to mention was the humor level in it. I was quite amazed at the start how much there was in the first 10-20 mins and thought oh dear they going to over do it, but i was very pleasantly surprised to find that it worked excellently. Yet another reason for the greatness that is this film!
