Thank You
Posted by `Smaug on Wednesday, August 14, 2002 (07:57:23)
I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you helping us with the beta test. I will go ahead and spill these beans now for all of you to note.

GCC will become a subscription based site for SOME of our content. Now then, before you react, you should know this will be tastefully done.

All members will have access to the current features of GCC. Charter members will be the people that donate to GCC, in exchange for a free subscription. This will come into play mostly with LARGE gaming tournaments later this year. Normal members will pay a small fee for tournaments with cash prizes. GCC Charter members (Contributers), will have free entry to all events, tournaments, and restricted GCC content.

I will let this part slip too.......We will have some incredible new EXCLUSIVE GCC online content with X-Box and PS2. Before I shoot myself in the foot and reveal too much that is in store for you, I am going to shut up.

The reason for this post is to let ALL of you currently beta testing the site, that you are now GCC Charter Members for life. This means you will not have to donate to remain in this status, but it of course is still encouraged and appreciated.

I am also working on the possibility of special "Limited Edition" GCC Charter Member T-Shirts for all of you once I finalize those details.

Ok, I think I have said too much already, but thank you to all of you.

ALSO! A VERY important Thank you to Mortikahn for putting up with GCC, the dragon, and my dreams for your club!

Another New Mechwarrior 4 Map From Cloud's Mercs
    Posted by `Smaug on Tuesday, August 13, 2002 (18:23:07)
Another one?!?! You bet! Those folks over at Cloud's Mercs are whipping out some excellent maps for the hot game, Mechwarrior 4. This time around, the map is for the Black Knight Expansion and it is titled: CM-SunkenRockies. Here is a small description from the text file included with the download:

This baren rocky world is known for its mining deposits. Though the equipment was put in place, no one thought about the seasonal flooding. Deep water has filled most of the canyons making working, attacking, and defending positions difficult. The area is scattered with ruins of buildings long since gone from past scurmishes. The mining has been real slow having to mine underwater. So even metal is scarce for defenses. So base defenses are light and must depend mostly on mech support from mechwarriors like you.
