In the last couple of days Sony Online Entertianment announced a new title, The Agency. With this brand new spy-vs-spy MMO shooter, Sony brings a brand new experience to both PC and PS3 users. Click on to get some details about this game.
The Agency, an action-based, sneaky MMO. There have been a couple of MMO shooters before, but this is definitly the first spy MMO out there. It is both a PC and PS3 title, making the audience for this game broad. As such you will probably see elements both PC and console elements present in this game.
Rather than the focus being on items and levels, this game uses "operatives" to advance through the game. Operatives are the people that assist you during the mission. Going further into the game you will get opperatives that will better assist you. For instance, one of the operatives may build you a brand new car, or open up a brand new weapon. Perhaps they'll be aquiring intel for you so that missions will be easier.
Every game has sides, as does this one. Basically by choosing a side, you're choosing a way of working. Later in the game you will be able to form your own organization (basically a clan or a guild) that may consist of both of these sides.
UNITE is the super spy faction out there, all sneaky, sexy and hi-tech. James Bond would probably belong to an association like this.
On the other hand we have ParaGON, the mercenary band. Not quite as sneaky (in fact, you can probably notice them miles away), they get the job done through firepower, explosions, and question? Nah
Besides that, SOE is giving us the promise of instant action. They are planning on making it as simple as possible to get to the action.
